My STORY
October 17, 2012 is a day that will hold so much happiness and so much pain. My son Michael Andrew was born at 3:55 pm. He weighed 198 grams. He was beautiful. He didn’t get to take even one breath in this world before he passed.
Not a day goes by that I do not think of him in some way. His ashes and picture sits proudly watching our daily life. He will always be a part of my life, he is my son and for that I am eternally grateful. Honoured that I was chosen
to be his mom. He has and always will make an impact on my life.
After Michael was born I wanted to give back but in the most impactful way I could. Going through this was a life changing event and although everyone that I had dealt with while dealing with my loss was wonderful, I felt that more
could be done. There were a lot of gaps from client to community resources. If you’ve never been through this, you don’t know the questions to ask to get the answers you need. It’s a very lonely and isolating feeling.
I knew more needed to be done to help others going through similar situations and that’s when Wings of Hope Niagara was created.
